Tina McCorkindale

Tina McCorkindale, Ph.D., APR, is the President and CEO of the Institute for Public Relations (IPR), a nonprofit research think tank focused on advancing the public relations industry through research and promoting best practices. In addition to leading IPR since 2015, she has more than 20 years of academic teaching experience and over a decade in corporate communication and analytics.

She is an active member of several prominent organizations, including the Page Society, The Seminar, the Commission on Public Relations Education Steering Committee, the ICCO Board of Management, the University of Oregon's Strategic Communication Leadership Network, Seattle University's Marketing Department Advisory Board, the Diversity Action Alliance Board, and the AMEC Academic Advisory Board.

A frequent presenter and author, Dr. McCorkindale's thought leadership and research in public relations has earned her several honors, including induction into the PR News Measurement Hall of Fame in 2018, the PRSA David Ferguson Award in 2017, and the 2020 PRSA Puget Sound Professional of the Year award. In 2019, she was one of 40 national leaders to participate in the Department of Defense's 91st Joint Civilian Orientation Conference.

McCorkindale holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, a master’s in public and corporate communication from the University of South Alabama, and a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Miami. She lives in Seattle.
